Synopsis TIME PASSING The story is set in England, America, and Korea Kevin Connor and his family are caught up in world war two their father is in North Africa fighting the Germans so the family has to cope living from day to day in war torn Britain. Lucy Kevin’s sister meets and American airman Danny to the disapproval of her mother, but she warms to the young man after meeting him. Danny gets shot down over the pacific when the Japanese bomb pearl harbour and once again the world is at war he is missing in action and Lucy’s life is turned upside down, but good news arrives later as Danny is found by some fishermen and hidden from the Japanese Danny returns to America and asks Lucy to come over for a holiday where Danny asks Lucy to marry him, which of course she agrees to. Paul Kevin’s brother joins the army and he is captured by the Japanese and is imprisoned in Changi for a long time they don’t know if he is dead or alive. Kevin in the meantime becomes a journalist and is sent on an assignment to interview a guru who has set up a commune in Wales and finds he is a person from his past and meets some other people also from his past. The hotel Kevin stays in is unbeknown to him owned by his childhood dream girl the girl he never had the nerve to tell her she was his dream girl. She also never had the nerve to tell him her feelings towards him, they get together and have a lot of catching up to do. Kevin also helps in a strange way his childhood friend Willy, who has become an alcoholic after the death of his sister Paul is released from Changi and is in some hospital in Singapore and Kevin gets him released with the help of a General Woody Armstrong from the government department who he writes to so he can attend Lucy and Danny’s wedding as a surprise Paul has a problem coping with being alive when so many of his comrades have died in the prison he falls deeper into grief and turns to drink Kevin has to help him cope and he then becomes the older brother. General Armstrong, who helped Kevin to get Paul home asks a favour of Kevin and he has to go on a trip to Korea to identify someone caught for spying who they believe to be Kevin’s father who had been killed in the Second World War. Kevin returns home to find Paul is still drinking and tells him he has to go into rehab to his disgust but agrees he needs help. Their mother returns from America and tells Kevin that Danny father has asked her to marry him. They all embark on a trip to America for the mothers wedding where Paul meets a stranger from his past, Kevin gets a phone call that his loved one has been in an accident and is in a coma, frantic to get back to England he is helped along by Dannie’s father whom he has no idea is in the secret service. Then they all return for Kevin’s wedding he receives a phone call on his wedding day from someone he never expected and what he has to say makes him very suspicious. There are many twists to the story and a lot of surprises for all the family.
