⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - Hard hitting"The book takes you on the journey that is the life of Jay Sutherland. A USMC veteran. He is now a district attorney. The youngest ever to be in New York.

Telling the start of Jay's life the author has got the raw emotion across to the reader. The mental and physical abuse he suffered as a child. The loving grandfather that took him in. Grounded him. Showed him what family really was. It also set him on his path to what he is now.His time in the forces and his crusade to rid the streets of the underbelly people who blighted his early life.

Adam Lewis has done a fantastic job in introducing Jay to us. I hope there are more books in the pipeline to turn this into a series."

Colleen M, Reviewer via NetGalley.

"Jay Sutherland was abused by his mother's boyfriend for the majority of his first decade of life. His grandfather rescues him and changes his life.

Decades later Jay Sutherland is the District Attorney in the same area where he was abused.

Twisted Fate is 353 pages; there isn't filler in this book. It moves right along.

Definitely between 4 and 5 stars.

I received a free copy of this book and i am leaving this review voluntarily."

"A big thank you to NetGalley for this ARC of Twisted Fate, along with my hope for many books to follow by Adam Lewis featuring Jay Sutherland.

This new novel, by a new author, was filled with carefully created characters on both sides of the love-hate aisle. Jay Sutherland the son of ne’er do well parents, saved by his grandfather, rises from adversity to a successful career. All that is in jeopardy as he takes on a foe he only thinks he knows.

This was a great, readable journey that I thought was going in a completely different direction a couple of times, but it took a turn and all the pieces merged into a cohesive and believable read. It surprised at how well everything was pieced together. Hopefully there are more installments to come."

"Adam Lewis masterfully weaves a narrative that hooks you from the very first page. Through his artful storytelling, Twisted Fate becomes more than just a novel—it's an experience. With every turn of the page, you'll be drawn deeper into Jay Sutherland's world, feeling his determination and dedication to justice as he fights against corruption and crime."

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - An Outstanding Read

"Twisted Fate isn't your typical legal thriller—it's a thrilling ride that's both exciting and addictively readable. Once you start, you won't want to stop! With intense action and a gripping storyline, it's the kind of book that sticks with you long after you've turned the last page."

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - Legal battle and human spirit

"Twisted Fate is a story that explores the enduring impact of childhood trauma and the strength it takes to overcome it. The main hero, Jay Sutherland, had a childhood marked by abuse. Yet, the narrative doesn't dwell on the darkness. Instead, it focuses on Jay's resilience and the positive influences that shape him into a man dedicated to justice.

What struck me most was Jay's journey of transformation. We see him rise above his circumstances, fueled by a supportive grandfather and his own unwavering belief in fairness. His rise to District Attorney becomes a testament to the power of perseverance.

While the legal battle at the heart of the story adds a layer of suspense, I liked its exploration of the human spirit. It's a story that doesn't shy away from difficult themes but ultimately celebrates the power of resilience, love, and the pursuit of justice.

The book is well-written, it had me hooked from the first chapter. I really enjoyed this story."

"*content warning: this book contains a LOT of swearing, death, gun violence, mentions of rape*

Jay Sutherland had a terrible childhood - raised as his father's punching bag, neglected by his mother and staring at a future of no hope. Until his grandfather arrives and rescues 9-yo Jay from the hellhole of his life.

Determined to impress his grandfather and live up to the faith that was put in him, Jay grows up and joins the Marines until he is injured in active service, before pivoting his career to law and cleaning up the streets of New York - starting with the big crime bosses.

I can't give away too many spoilers, but let's just say things come full circle as the opening scene is the culmination of the events in the book.

This is not my usual sort of book, but I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. It was every bit the gritty crime story you'd expect, broken down into three vignettes of the hero, Jay's life: childhood, the Marines and as a lawyer. Jay was the typical hard-nosed kid from a rough upbringing with a hankering for revenge; Benedict was the typical hiding-in-plain-sight villain. This was vividly written, with lots of visceral, descriptive passages. It had a very open ended ending, which leave the possibility of this becoming a series.

Some of the phrasing and structure seemed a bit jarring to me, but I did receive this an ARC, so hopefully those are resolved in the final publication copy.

Overall, this was a fast-paced, enjoyable read. Recommended for fans of Tom Clancy, John Grisham

~ Many thanks to NetGalley, Blue Pacific Media and Adam Lewis for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review~"

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - Held my attention from page 1!

"A book that was fast paced and didn't over explain complicated characters! Not many spoilers here, but I was actually hooked right away. There was enough explanation of characters that I immediately hated Maryann. You wanted so badly for her to try for Jay and she didn't.You feel like Jay has it all with his pop and I died a little when he died. I really hurt when he left the marines. But the day of Benedict....amazing. I won't ruin it for you but I like a book the covers it all and ends it all....and don't get me started on the future Henry... :)"

Juan Lynch, Reviewer via Reader's Favorite

"Despite Twisted Fate being Adam Lewis' debut novel, his writing style is that of a master at his craft. The story was well-paced. Adequate time was spent developing all of the characters and their relationships with one another. I was emotionally invested in Jay Sutherland's journey. He was introduced as a child scarred by neglect and abuse but developed into a man that you can depend on to bring about justice. On the other hand, I appreciated how Benedict, the main antagonist, was well-portrayed as a ruthless kingpin. I also liked that some intriguing plot twists heightened the suspense of the story. Once I started reading, it was difficult to put the book down. I highly recommend Twisted Fate to all avid readers interested in a character-driven, action-packed legal drama."

"I was brought to all emotions while reading this book (in 2 days mind you). I was happy, sad, angry…. I sure hope that there are more books following Jay Sutherland in the future. I definitely want more."

Such great well written story giving his life from a little boy to a soldier to a man..
It makes you think about regardless of what’s happening you can always do better and goals are achievable.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book"

"Early John Grisham vibes with this clever thriller, which takes you into the legal world and leaves you wondering who the good guys really are. I found the main character compelling and the easy writing style made for an immersive reading experience."

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - Page turner!

Honestly, it usually takes me a week to read a book, but I read Twisted Fate in a single sitting. The story takes you on a journey with the main character and really draws you in. The book is believable, the characters are real.

The tragedies sting, and your heart rejoices at each victory. The Author ties everything together well, and unlike some other books in this genre, nothing feels contrived or forced.

I closed the last page with a smile and was left wanting more.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - Great story

"A great story of over coming a very rough start, picking yourself up when you are flattened and at what cost do you continue the battle. About half way into the book I was wondering where the story was going but the last part is a “can’t put down”. I look forward to more from this author."

R J Mckay via Goodreads

"Razor-sharp and addictive, ‘Twisted Fate’ is a book you won’t want to put down. It simply pulses with energy and power. The character development is what drives the story. From a beaten and neglected boy of 9 to a DA who is willing to put everything on the line to see justice done, Jay Sutherland is a strong individual you’ll find yourself rooting for."

R. Warren Stroud via Amazon

"This book grabbed my attention from the very beginning. It is well written and easy to follow.

The characters are well developed early on and gain depth as the story continues.
