Two particular friends, Alan Greene, PhD (Botany) and USMC Captain Colin Campbell, share a love of jazz, beautiful women and adventure that first finds them developing the first black pepper plantation in the West Indies and later leads them to Afghanistan where they successfully collaborate in the US military's anti-opium initiative during the troop escalation strategy referred to as the surge.
