“I’m thrilled with the vision they have because they’re dealing with young people in a different way, trying to give them some insight as to what could happen in the future and how they could avoid that”.
“It’s all about trying to avoid issues ahead of time. It talks about distracted driving and parking lot etiquette and things to look out for, which I believe are so useful to young drivers”.

What Teenage Drivers Don’t Know:The Unwritten Rules of the Road by John Harmata and Paul Zientarski is a practical guide for teenagers and new drivers which provides examples of situations you can get into on the road that may not be fully covered when learning to drive. These include driving in thick fog, on black ice, and other severe weather conditions. It also gives advice on simple things like when it is safe to turn left on certain roads and the dangers of using things like cell phones while driving. All new drivers could benefit from this book. While a lot of it is common sense to experienced drivers, new drivers may not think about them or know the rules.
John Harmata and Paul Zientarski have created a handy go-to guide in What Teenage Drivers Don’t Know: Unwritten Rules of the Road. It would probably be the parents who would buy the guide for their teenagers rather than the teenager buying it themselves, but it is definitely something they should take a look at. The illustrations are helpful and the book takes you all the way from getting behind the wheel to how to deal with a court situation if you get in trouble or have an accident. Since teens are statistically more likely to have a car accident, this information is very useful to know. I think this book will do well on the market and should be included in places like schools where Driver’s Ed is taught.
“It’s going to be a very good book for driver’s education programs to give to parents as a parent guidebook. Even parents can benefit from facts in the book about the hazards of letting a friend borrow a teen’s car or how to help teens survive highway driving”.
Naperville, Illinois High Schools have begun using a new book, "What Teenage Drivers Don't Know, The Unwritten Rules Of The Road" in their Drivers Education classes.
