The book is about a delightful little girl who wakes up joyfully each day.  She sets about getting herself dressed and ready for the day.  In the process, she pulls most everything out of her dresser drawers and closet, tossing them this way and that.  They all land in unique configurations about the room, creating a fantastic wonderland in her imagination.  Through it all, she discusses her creations with her best friend…her doll, who encourages her handi-work to be even better.  As you might imagine, when Mommy appears upon the scene, all she sees is a mess!  A battle of wills ensues.  Finally, in frustration Daddy arrives with a brilliant idea.  To end the confrontation, he suggests a game…Yarashell’s favorite.  The thought of winning is exactly what is needed to turn her attention to the task at hand…cleaning up her room.  Enjoy meeting Yarashell and experiencing her delightful imagination as she gets herself ready to begin her day. Creative Way To Inspire Youngsters To Clean Their Room

Everyone knows a messy little 3 year old!  Finally, here’s a clean-up idea that makes cleaning as much fun as making a room messy in the first place.  Read about it in the latest children’s book by Author, Sybrina Durant, titled Yarashell Abbily and Her Very Messy Room.

If you are a parent or a grandparent of a toddler or young child, then you are aware of the challenges associated with inspiring them to clean up their rooms. Part of the challenge—is that kids enjoy their very messy room. This could be because they like to see all of their favorite toys out in one place, it is not fun to clean, or because they do not yet understand the benefits of keeping things organized.  Or maybe, they just don’t see it as messy at all.

In her latest book, children’s author, Sybrina Durant has created a messy room wonderland. The book explores why children enjoy making their room a mess—and a creative clean up idea that all parents can turn to. Aside from the real-life lesson of keeping an organized room, Yarashell Abbily and Her Very Messy Room is filled with the delightful artwork of Sara Wilson, who illustrated the book in vivid colors and modern imagery that little girls relate to.

The inspiration behind Yarashell Abbily and Her Very Messy Room was born when Sybrina asked one of her beloved grandchildren what her favorite thing in the whole wide world was. With a bright smile, enthusiasm and sincerity—her 3 year old granddaughter replied “I like to mess up my room!”

It was then that Sybrina understood that a messy room was part of children’s creative process, meaning that a creative clean up idea was required, too. She first wrote the song that accompanies the book—followed by the book. Everyone knows a messy little girl, who finds the thought of cleaning her room to be heartbreaking. While a messy room book may at first seem counterintuitive—it is a truly brilliant idea. Better yet—the book is fun and the illustrations are vibrant.
