What is a BookLife Review Promotional Video?

A BookLife Review Promotional Video is a custom video optimized for social media using quotes from your BookLife Review.  The video is optimized for both social media posting and social media advertising. Here is an example of one.

How is it made?

You create the video using the easy-to-use video creation tool provided by BookLife. The video is delivered to you in three sizes/proportions that you'll need for most social media.

What is it used for?

A BookLife Review Promotional Video is designed to be used on social media, but can be used on websites and other places. Be creative! 

Whether you share the video with your social media followers, or you purchase a marketing campaign overseen by BookLife's social media experts, the goal of the video is to promote the best quotes from your BookLife Review.

Where can I see a sample?

Here is an example of a BookLife Review promotional video. Remember, each video is created by the author and unique to their book and its BookLife Review.

How do I create a BookLife Promotional Video?

When you approve your BookLife Review, on your book's Project page, in the same place where you clicked the link to approve your review, you'll also see a blue button that says, "Create a Promotional Video for Your Review."  Click that button and start creating!

What is the price of the video?

When I pay for my video, can I also pay to have BookLife market my video on social media sites?

Yes, you can, but you don't have to. If you just want the video, you can order the video only without any marketing campaign. And you can always order a marketing campaign for your video at a later date; you won't be charged to make the video again. 

If I want to pay for a marketing campaign, what are my options?

There are two levels of marketing campaigns you can choose for your BookLife Review Promotional Video. Both campaigns promote your video to active readers of books in your genre on Facebook, Instagram, and the Facebook Advertising Network.

  • The first level campaign, called the Viewer Boost Campaign ($697), reaches 25,000 or more potential buyers as part of one target audience. 
  • The next level, Supercharged Viewer Boost Campaign ($1,097) reaches 50,000 or more potential buyers as part of two or three unique target audiences. 
  • The number of people who see the ad is variable based on the interaction with your ad. However, we guarantee the base viewership.

Who is the target of my marketing campaign?

Based on the your book’s genre, as well as the comparable titles identified in your BookLife Review, we create a custom audience that has already expressed interest in books like yours

How long is the marketing campaign?

Most campaigns will run across a 2-3 week or 3-4 week period. We will be reaching potential readers/buyers when they are using social media. The length is optimized to have the best possible impact among a core audience.

How will I know how my marketing campaign performed?

At the conclusion of your campaign, you will receive a simple report reviewing your results. Our social media advertising expert will share insights when possible. They can interpret the results in a way that will help you going forward.

May I extend my video marketing campaign?

Yes. At the conclusion of your first campaign, you will have the option of reaching more readers with the videos you already own – or you can create a new video for a new campaign at a favorable cost.

Should I use the marketing campaign instead of doing my own social media campaign?

You can do both. In fact, we recommend that when you purchase a campaign, you also use the video for your own social media followers. Your own posting campaign and the BookLife campaign will benefit each other.

You can help this campaign by posting your videos on your own social media accounts.

  • The square and horizontal video are optimal for most social media posts.
  • The vertical video is ideal for Reels/Stories and the places and platforms where “tall videos” are favored. 
  • Reels/Stories tend to receive more organic (aka free) views, so be sure to use this format when you can even if new to you.

Can I get a video without having a BookLife Review?

No, a BookLife Review Promotional Video requires that you have a BookLife Review, and you need to have approved that Review.

Can I make multiple videos for my BookLife Review?

Yes, you can make as many videos as you'd like. However, the most important element in your video will be (VERY) short excerpts from your review – short, powerful quotes that social media users can instantly read!

May I change my video in the middle of my campaign?

No, once you have paid for your campaign, the video cannot be changed. That's why it's extremely important to double-check your video, in all three sizes, before you complete payment.

Will a professional review my video?

Yes, part of the service is that a social media advertising expert will review the video you create to help line your campaign up for success. 

The most likely issue is that your quotes are too long. From experience, we know that short, “power quotes” work the best in ads. Keep this in mind when creating your video and the video creation tool will take care of the rest!

Are there any points I should keep in mind when creating my video?

Yes. Following are the most important guidelines for your video: 

  1. When creating your video, think of the audience you're trying to reach. What will have the most impact with that particular audience?
  2. Keep the review quotes you use as short as possible. Social media moves very quickly, so anything beyond a handful of words is likely to be missed.
  3. Use your best quote first. This will grab attention and encourage viewers to watch and learn more about your book, encouraging them to click on your ad.

What makes a good landing page (ad destination)?

A landing page is where a viewer who clicks on your ad will be sent. 

Ideally, your landing page has the following elements:

  • Additional compelling information about your book.
  • An excerpt to read live or download, such as a first chapter.
  • A way to easily buy your book, whether a physical copy, digitally, or both.

Someone who viewed your video and clicked on your link is an “interested prospect.” They may not be ready to buy. If your landing page is simply an order page without additional information, you may lose a potential sale. 

Does the "Buy Now" or "See More" button in my video actually click through?

The Buy Now button is indeed a call-to-action, but it’s not programmable, so it won't work if you click on it. It’s more a suggestion as to the next step.
  • A video can’t have a "executable” file embedded in it. It won’t be accepted anywhere since it would be treated as have a computer virus.
  • You use your buy link in the social media post that goes with your video (or other places you use the video). 
  • The link can also be programmed in a social media ad overall, whether you create the ad or you purchase that ad campaign from BookLife.

What if I'm unhappy with the results of my marketing campaign?

We can't guarantee the results of every campaign, not only because every video created is different, but because social media audiences react very differently based on the genre or the book being promoted. However, we can guarantee that our team of professionals will do their best to place your video in the places where it will have the most impact.

If you're unhappy with the results at the end of your campaign, you'll have to decide if you want to try another campaign, using the same or a second video that you create.
