Submit your book to Indie Spotlight!

Each month, BookLife runs the Indie Spotlight feature, a thematic roundup of self-published books.

We'll publish our monthly calls-for-Info in our newsletter, on the BookLife site, and on social media, but here's a peek at the upcoming categories so you can determine where your book might best fit in.

Please only submit your book during the timeframes specified below. For every submission, please include the following info.

 

1. Your name and book title

2. Brief description of your book

3. A brief first-person statement about the origins of your story, your writing process, or anything else you would like us to know about your book

4. An author photo and cover image


OCT. - Scary Stories

For October, we are seeking your horror and paranormal fiction, as well as nonfiction associated with the supernatural, haunted history, or the macabre.

Submission Period: September 1-October 1, 2021.

 

NOV. - Military/World History

In honor of those who have served, our November Indie Spotlight feature welcomes books about military and world history.

Email your submission info to booklifeeditor@booklife.com with the subject line “Indie Spotlight - Military/World History.”

Submission Period: October 1-November 1, 2021.

 

DEC. - Goodwill/Art & Photography

The holidays are a time to celebrate beauty, peace, and goodwill. For December, we are looking for books on the spirit of giving and kindness, as well as your art and photography books.

Email your submission info to booklifeeditor@booklife.com with the subject line “Indie Spotlight - Goodwill/Art & Photography." 

Submission Period: November 1-December 1, 2021.

 

JANUARY - Self-help/Inspirational

In the spirit of embracing new beginnings—and as part of our continuing Indie Spotlight feature—we invite you to share your indie self-help and inspirational books with BookLife.

Submission Period: December 1, 2021-January 1, 2022.

 

FEBRUARY - Romance/Relationships

We’re in the mood for love. As part of our monthly Indie Spotlight feature, we are seeking info about your self-published romances and nonfiction titles devoted to the topic of relationships.

MARCH - Food/Cooking

Even in divisive times, food has the potential to unite us. For March, we are seeking info about your self-published cookbooks, nutrition guides, or other works that celebrate the joy of cooking and eating.

APRIL - Business/Personal Finance

It’s tax month! What better time to take control of your finances and sharpen your professional skills? We are seeking info about your self-published books on personal finance and business.

Submission Period: March 1-April 1, 2022.

 

MAY - Our Stories: Memoir/Autobiography

May is memoir month at BookLife, and an opportunity to recognize the diversity of BookLife writers. We invite you to submit info about your work of memoir or autobiography.  LGBTQ+ and BIPOC authors are strongly encouraged to submit.
