Alan Bern is a Children’s Librarian at Berkeley Public Library's Central Library. He has worked in public libraries in the East Bay Area for over 20 years in a variety of jobs. He is a poet and has two books published by Fithian Press: No no the saddest (2004) & Waterwalking in Berkeley (2007) and greater distance and other poems (Lines & Faces, 2015) – Alan is also a performer working with the dancer, Lucinda Weaver, as PACES, dance & poetry fit to the space. Both Alan and his collaborator, the artist Robert Woods, are printers and artists who grew up in the 1960s together in Berkeley. They work together under the imprint of Lines & Faces, linesandfaces.com.
