Fred Duffy is a serial entrepreneur with five successful enterprises to his credit. He lives in Ballsbridge Dublin with his wife Helen

Born and raised in the Diamond (town square), Monaghan, he was educated at St McCartan’s College, University College Dublin and University College, Salford, Manchester. He played football for school and County.

After two years as a Radio Officer in the British Merchant Navy and three as a film and sound engineer, he joined Shell Mex and BP. He spent the next 28 years in the petroleum industry.

Duffy started up the group with a groundbreaking high spec horticultural farm, with 5 acres under glass, the largest on the West Coast.  This was planned as a launch-pad for the next venture; Atlas Waste Oil Co.

He built an Oil Refinery and founded Atlas Oil International, still operating after 51 years.

He expanded Atlas service into an Industrial Waste Recycling Service which was sold and later developed by new owners into Enva, today one of Europe’s largest environmental organisations.

Following his appointment to the Irish National Enterprise Board as a consultant on start-up ventures he headed up the Irish Health Service Development Corporation competing successfully in Saudi Arabia.

Duffy’s next venture was the Greenman Group manufacturing computer consumables with five manufacturing facilities in three countries.
