Helen Currie Foster writes the Alice MacDonald Greer Mystery series. She earned a BA from Wellesley College, an MA from the University of Texas, and a JD from the University of Michigan. In law school she grew fascinated with dirt and water law. After more than thirty years in environmental law and litigation, she found that the character Alice and her adventures had suddenly appeared in her life.
Married with two children, Foster lives north of Dripping Springs, Texas, supervised by three burros. She is deeply curious about human history and how, uninvited, the past keeps crashing the party. Why does she use "Ghost" in the titles? Because a figure from the past is linked to the present--by murder.
Ghost Daughter (2021), Ghost Cat (2020), Ghost Next Door (September 2018) and Ghost Letter (January 2016) are set in the Texas Hill Country, as are Ghost Cave and Ghost Dog (December 2014). Ghost Dagger (March 2017) finds Alice in coastal Scotland, dealing with current and Bronze Age murders.
Foster is active with Austin Shakespeare and Sisters in Crime, Heart of Texas chapter, as well as the Texas Writers' League. She very much enjoys meeting with library groups and with book and readers’ groups, including in Colorado, New Mexico, and central Texas. Her books are available at Amazon and on Kindle, as well as at independent bookstores including BookPeople in Austin and Collected Works Bookstore in Santa Fe.
