Jamison Borek retired from a successful career of nearly thirty years as a lawyer, diplomat, and government official for the US Department of State in order to write historical fiction. As a hobby, she also participated in "living history" activities to enhance programs at historic sites and museums in Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, and New York.
A lover of mysteries, she was inspired to write Patriots & Poisons, a mystery set in 1797 Philadelphia (folowed by Secrets Worth Killing For) when she researched the period for a reenactment and became fascinated by the conflicts and challenges facing a young country. A series aimed especially at younger readers, beginning with Amanda's Secret and now continuing with Amelia's Dream, Mystery at the Raleigh Tavern, and The Servant Girl's Secret, was inspired by her love of Colonial Williamsburg and her living history activities as well.
She splits her time between Warsaw, Virginia and Santa Fe, NM.
