Jeffery Dow has been writing since he was in elementary school--sometime in the middle of the Paleolithic. When he discovered Isaac Asimov, Arthur C. Clarke and Robert Heinlein as a teenager he was lost to the worlds of science fiction. A few years after that he encountered The Lord of the Rings trilogy and became hooked on fantasy books as well. Other favorite authors include Ray Bradbury, James Clavell, Arthur Conan Doyle, Neil Gaiman, William Manchester, James Michener, Edgar Allan Poe, John Steinbeck, and Tom Wolfe.
With a Master's degree in Applied Anthropology, Mr. Dow has worked as an urban planner for numerous local governments in Florida and the Florida Department of Transportation. His anthropology background was instrumental in the writing of his Dragon's-Eye Moon series, a task that took ten years to complete. His most recent novel, Rigatoni, started out as a short story, but wound up taking another eight years to finish, so it's less a short story and more a doorstop now.
Mr. Dow enjoys acting, drumming, and photography, and currently maintains two websites, one for the Dunedin Showcase Theater, and one for the Pleasant Places of Florida, a corresponding Sherlock Holmes scion of the Baker Street Irregulars.
He lives in Albuquerque, New Mexico with his wife, Wanda, and dog, Nyx. He thanks Wanda for putting up with a morning person.
