Joanne Orion Miller writes and illustrates both fiction and non-fiction. Her short stories appear in Carve magazine and various anthologies; she was a Raymond Carver Award finalist for "Penance" and one of 20 international writers invited to attend and read at the Spoleto (Italy) Literary Conference. Shaketown (Quile Press) is her first novel.
Joanne wrote and photo-illustrated seven non-fiction books for Avalon Travel, Peter Pauper Press, Sasquatch Press and other publishers, as well as contributing to books by Dorling Kindersley, UC Press and others.
