Joseph Sarosy is a father and teacher in Northern New Mexico. He writes for Fatherly, an online magazine helping fathers connect with their kids. In 2018, he initiated the #GreatDad Campaign, helping to highlight a diverse field of fathers doing it right in countless different ways. He has also written for the Kosmos Journal and on his blog www.offgridkids.org. From 2009 to 2015, he lived off the grid in the mountains outside Taos, New Mexico, where his daughter was born and spent the first 2.5 years of her life.
In 2016, Sarosy partnered with Silke Rose West, a veteran of the Waldorf classroom with over thirty years of experience teaching children and telling stories. In 1995, Rose West co-founded the Taos Waldorf School, then left in 2016 to form an independent forest kindergarten, Taos Earth Children. For two years, Joe was her assistant at Taos Earth Children, and the two continue to collaborate in school, storytelling and children's events.
