I was born in Shreveport Louisiana. I grew up with a love for reading and writing at a young age. As an adult I became a singer writing and recording my own songs. In that, I realized that writing love songs was essentially writing stories with melodies. I also realized that even though my songs were beautiful heartfelt stories, I wanted to tell a bigger story involving children, magic, and adventure and fun. That is when I sat down to write my first novel "The Culpepper Clan and the Un-Sacred Rhealm." That is also when I realized that more that singing or anything else, I wanted to be a writer of middle-grade/young adult books. While writing my first book, words, combined with imagination, made for exciting times. I love words and their ability to create something huge simply from an idea. I believe words are the most powerful tools we are blessed with. For me, words make me feel, think, believe, and most of all, they make me free; free to create. For me, that is a most important freedom. It is bigger, wider, taller and greater than any mountain.
