Rachelle Burk is the author of 17 fiction and nonfiction books for children ages 2 to 13. She is also a retired crisis intervention social worker. Her published work includes the award-winning middle grade science-adventure novel THE WALKING FISH, a winner of the NSTA/Children’s Book Council “Outstanding Science Trade Book Award.” A recent title, SPACE TORAH: ASTRONAUT JEFFREY HOFFMAN’S COSMIC MITZVAH, received a Kirkus Starred Review. Her Amazon Best Sellers include STOMP, WIGGLE, CLAP, AND TAP: MY FIRST BOOK OF DANCE and THE STORY OF SIMONE BILES: AN INSPIRING BIOGRAPHY FOR YOUNG READERS. Rachelle has also written extensively for Scholastic Science World and Scholastic Super Science magazines. Her newest release is an independently published picture book, A GIFT OF LIFE: A STORY OF ORGAN & TISSUE DONATION, funded by the Sharing Network Foundation, which supports and promotes organ donation and provides emotional support for donor families.
