Acknowledging the need for literature that enlightens, uplifts, and empowers today’s youth, Rosemary Watson was delighted to bring elements of her life’s work together in writing this book. Gathering information and insight from her diverse experience in education, psychology, and spirituality, she was inspired to write Hummingbird Wisdom for Kids.
As an adult parent educator with the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD), she helped over five thousand parents to improve their quality of life through healthy nutrition, discipline, play, and stress management. As a California Arts Council “Artist in Schools” multiple-year award recipient, she worked with over seven thousand elementary and middle school children. Her specialty, Creative Dance, focused on exploring and discovering new possibilities through divergent thinking, rhythms, and play. In her dedication to children’s emotional wellness, she trained adult health promoters to tour schools throughout the San Fernando Valley that would in turn train hundreds of parents in improving emotional wellness for their families. It was funded by the Los Angeles Educational Partnership and Hathaway Family and Children Services. Prior to this, she was designated a “Governor of the Age of Enlightenment” by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi and taught meditation and yoga to the underserved in Los Angeles. She is a member of Yoga Alliance as an E-RYT 500 Yoga instructor.
Presently, she serves in private practice in Los Angeles, California, as a PhD-level, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. She has facilitated the recovery of hundreds of individuals from mental and emotional trauma, while helping them build on their strengths and restructure resiliency.
Rosemary lives with her husband, Murray, also a psychologist, on a serene hillside home surrounded by nature’s beauty. Together they have been practicing Paramahansa Yogananda’s Kriya Yoga for over twenty years. They enjoy nature’s outings, biking, and camping with their community friends and animal companions.
