Tammy graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a B.A. in psychology and a Master of Human Relations in counseling. This led her to a career working with individuals affected by anxiety, depression, schizoaffective and bi-polar disorders. After the death of her mother, Tammy discovered a creative and therapeutic outlet by learning to sew and making memory teddy bears out of special items of clothing. Despite being born without a right hand and forearm, Tammy transitioned from her chosen career in mental health and followed this new path. Her unconventional means of sensory therapy has evolved to help people cope with their loss of a loved one, or beloved pet, by placing a comfort in their hands, and a sense of hope in their hearts. Her teddy bears and pet memorials have been featured in television and print media within major industry publications across the globe. In addition to creating special memory bears and dogs, she hopes to share a message of hope through her writing, as well as her art, by bringing something tangible to those affected by sorrow or struggles.
