Assessment:

But Paul is soon taken by gunmen -- as his young son Andrew watches. After a slow but intriguing beginning, the book takes off. Among the carefully crafted characters, Andrew Locke -- years later a married father and FBI agent -- takes on a secret assignment that leads to a confrontation with a trusted friend and those who harmed his father.
