Very impressive and intelligent vision of our not-so-distant future wrapped beautifully around a coming of age, science fiction, eco-conscious, hero's journey story. I find myself anxious to see how these characters evolve. Sheala Dawn Henke does a great job of making us yearn for more. Bravo!
IDEA33 is a smart, fast-paced, creatively built start to an insightful new series. This is a dystopian book with heart, great characters, and an extremely engaging premise. Ultimately, it's an optimistic story about how young people can (and must) change the world, that kept me on the edge of my seat. I highly recommend it for both teens and adults who like dystopian thrillers. It's also a great book to discuss, as it sheds light on several current issues. Entertaining reading with substance! I look forward to reading the next book in the series.
What I loved about this book is that it has it all. It's a fresh idea that did not sound similar to any story I have seen or read. It is a riveting page turner that keeps me thinking. I enjoy a read that has clever and hidden meanings such as this, and I feel excited to go back to read it more than a few times because of it. I am a 28 year old female, however, I know grown men and young kids who also loved this book. I could easily picture the individual characters as well as their setting. This being a futuristic-fiction story, I really hope to see how it can be transfered to theaters some day!
My interest was immediately captured when I started reading this book. The details and description make it feel like you're watching a beautiful movie rather than reading a book, and I was immersed in the lives of the characters as if I knew them personally within the first few chapters!! A fun book to read--kept my interest the entire way through. I really can not wait to see what's next from this amazing new author!!
This was such as intriguing book! The character development was excellent and the plot exciting. The end made me want more! I can't wait for the next one! The ending was perfect…it gave me enough to feel like the the book was a great read, but made me excited to see what happens next.
An intriguing read! I couldn’t put Idea 33 down. This book read like a movie in the best way possible. I could visualize the scenes and characters like I was watching it the theater. Very entertaining! I will definitely be purchasing additional copies as gifts for my tween nieces.
Sheala continued, and expanded, the adventures of Heli, Terra, and Dous by leading them to a new environment. As in Regeneration, the author creates new characters that enhance the efforts of the main characters to steadfastly explore how to rid the world of "evil" and "control". She has an amazing ability to blend description with science and imagined science to create unique effects and objects; for example, a suit for Dous that enables him to walk. The ending is totally unexpected and creatively leads into the next book. Enjoy!
What thrill ride this was! Read the first book in less than 2 days and nearly doubled the reading time on the second! Great story, great lead on what's to come for Book 3! At least I'm hopeful that there is more to come! A must read for anyone who cares about the future!
