Soul of the Seasons: Creating Balance, Resilience, & Connection by Tapping the Wisdom of the Natural World

Adult; Spirituality/Inspirational; (Market)

Everyone and everything on this planet journeys through passages of birth and rebirth, maturation, harvest, loss, and death. There are no exceptions. Soul of the Seasons: Creating Balance, Resilience, & Connection by Tapping the Wisdom of the Natural World is a map, a guide for the reader along these highways and byways of life. Based on indigenous plant spirit healing and Five Element medicine (a form of Traditional Chinese medicine), Soul of the Seasons reveals how nature’s seasons and cycles offer an elegant template for navigating life’s complexities. The book first provides in-depth discussions, supported by illuminating examples from the author’s own life, of the wisdom encoded in the five seasons of Spring, Summer, Harvest, Fall, and Winter. Spring is the time to remember our visions, to set healthy boundaries, correct injustice, and make quality decisions. The reader will learn how this season supports their ability to employ sound planning during this period of explosive new growth. Spring includes the fundamental element of Wood and the core emotion of anger. Summer, the season of spiritual and emotional maturation, brings warmth and a sense of belonging through community, communication, and connection. This season is represented by the fundamental element of Fire and the core emotion of joy. Harvest provides a sweet satisfaction for an abundant life and the ability to nurture and be nurtured. The archetype of Mother is included in this season, along with the fundamental element of Earth and the core emotion of sympathy. Fall teaches the reader the importance of letting go and of valuing and respecting what is most precious. Included in this season is the archetype of Father, the fundamental element of Metal with its ability to separate with precision what is valuable from what is debris in our lives. Grief, the natural expression of loss, is the core emotion of Fall. Winter reminds us that contemplation, reflection, and rest are essential in the germination of new visions. This is the season of death, birth, and The Mystery. Curiosity, wonderment, and awe are gifts provided by the season of Winter. The fundamental element is Water and the core emotion is fear. Following the narrative of each season, thought-provoking questions and heart-centered meditations invite readers on an honest exploration of their inner landscapes along their own journey through life’s seasons. By drawing on the parallels between the seasons of the natural world and the seasons of life, the reader will learn how to effectively identify and correct imbalances; to develop greater compassion, integrity, and honesty; and to authentically ex¬press their emotions in ways that are in harmony with their life’s purpose. No matter where the book opens, the reader will find messages of hope, inspiration, and transformation.
