The King of Fish
Young Ray spends his days in a wheelchair dreaming of fishing for the big ones in the lake. Friends and neighbors suggest a trip to the country and that is where our hero comes face to face with the King of Fish. Their connection drives this story with tenderness and action while teaching, by example, that you’re never too young to speak up for ideals in which you believe. At the most basic level, The King of Fish is a catch and release story. Yet, it is so much more. Told in verse, it is a tale of wishes and dreams, heroism and sacrifice, and the wisdom and strength that are sometimes found only in the heart of a child.
