Biography
I spent the first 12 years of life living on the outskirts of Corning, Iowa: population 2,000. From the time I was five I was creating stories that I shared with teachers and classmates and, some were believable. So much so that when I told the class we had no stove and no food people started showing up at the door with casseroles and cakes. And yes my mom was furious but I couldn't and wouldn't stop telling stories that were a part of me I created and told.
In my career as a teacher, real estate agent, property manager, and director of marketing for post-acute, long-term care centers I heard stories that hurt my heart.
Whether it be the unbearable pain of losing someone to coming to the realization we are powerless over saving a loved one from addiction, or losing a lifestyle due to economic hardship, most of us live on the edge of chaos and confusion not just once, but many times throughout our lives. Everyone's life is a thriller waiting to happen.
I’ve always known that writing would become my career as it was in the plan. I not only pour my emotions into characters, but the thoughts, heartaches, adversities, failures, and triumphs of those I’ve met along the way.
I write stories about social issues; be it racism, a physician raised in a cult believing he was chosen by God by doing unspeakable acts, or my latest novel paranormal thriller Miracle revolving around twins conjoined at birth. The series Stranger Things was my inspiration to write a paranormal thriller.
When I'm not writing, you'll find me in my kitchen cooking and baking for family and friend, in my flower garden, or on the golf course. In the winter, you'll find me in front of a fireplace writing. Much of the time, however, I am with Lukas, the grandchild I adopted who is now almost two. He is my muse, a miniature best friend, and just plain fun.
